This beautiful Beaufort, North Carolina, flag is produced by the Beaufort Woman's Club, founded in 1921 and still an active organization today. The Town Seal was designed by the Beaufort Woman's Club in 1967 and was adopted by the town in 1969. The town flag was designed in 1972 and is sold by the Beaufort Woman's Club.
The symbols of the Beaufort flag are:

  • The FLEUR-DE-LIS and LION were taken from the coat of arms of the Duke of Beaufort, for whom the town was named.

  • The ROSE was taken from the House of Lancaster, the reigning house of England when Beaufort was settled in 1709.

  • The FISH were used to represent the prevalent livelihood of Beaufort settlers.
